Who We Are

Punk Rock Food Drive was created in 2009 by the members of local North County band, Black Seven.

Daniel Hernandez, Chris Mazzola, and Jason York were originally joined together by their love for music, ultimately expanding their focus to include a simple and effective way to help other people.

After the band split in 2011, Chris and Jason continued on with Punk Rock Food Drive and later expanded their work in the community with the creation of Notes for Needs.  Chris and Jason also went on to form the two piece bass 'n' drum band, Parade of Horribles.

Daniel went on to found MakeStuffSD, a company to showcase his artistic talents throughout San Diego.  He still helps out with some aspects of PRFD operations from time to time.

Strong, Active Partnerships
Since our inception we have teamed up with North County Community Services and the San Diego Food Bank to support North County's Food Bank. The resources and distribution model of these organizations are extremely valuable and far-reaching. Our pairing with these groups allows our collections to filter out to over 400 other non-profit organizations throughout North San Diego County.

In recent years, we have expanded our fundraising efforts to benefit Vista Teen Outreach as well as worked with our amazing family at The Sidewalk Project .
